Plastic Pipe for Underground Communication Ducts: PVC-U Double-Wall Corrugated Pipe

Double-wall corrugated pipes are widely used in applications involving heavy loads, such as highway construction, slope stabilization, and golf courses, where they serve as protective conduits for communication and power cables. The pipe design is innovative and structurally optimized, providing both sufficient compressive and impact resistance and excellent flexibility. They exhibit superior corrosion resistance, high electrical insulation, a smooth inner wall that minimizes flow resistance, and a favorable balance of strength and toughness. Under the same requirements for strength and stiffness, these pipes can reduce material consumption by 30% to 50%, offering good technical and economic benefits, while also being easy to transport and install, thereby reducing the physical workload of construction personnel.

Under the same requirements for strength and stiffness, these pipes can reduce material consumption by 30%–50%, offering good technical and economic benefits, while also being easy to transport and install, thereby reducing the physical workload of construction personnel.

Precautions for the transportation, handling, and storage of double-wall corrugated pipes:
The double-wall corrugated pipe features a double-layer wall structure, with a smooth, even inner wall and an outer wall composed of evenly spaced, trapezoidal hollow ribs. During transportation, loading/unloading, and storage, the following precautions should be observed:
    1. Due to the low specific gravity of high-impact-modified polyvinyl chloride pipes, they are prone to being tossed or dropped during handling and installation. Therefore, during transportation, loading/unloading, and storage, such pipes and fittings must never be thrown or subjected to severe impacts; they must be kept away from sharp objects and must not be thrown, dropped, rolled, or dragged.
    2. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight; for short-term storage, cover the materials; for long-term storage, store them in a shed or warehouse with a temperature not exceeding 40°C and good ventilation, maintaining a distance of at least 1 meter from heat sources.
    3. Pipes shall be stacked horizontally on a level, compacted ground surface. For pipes with a nominal outer diameter dn not exceeding 200 mm, the spacing between supports shall not exceed 1 m, and the overhanging end shall not exceed 0.5 m; for pipes with a nominal outer diameter dn of 250 mm or more, the support spacing may be appropriately increased. The stacking height shall not exceed 1.5 m.
    4. When stockpiling spigot-and-socket pipe, the spigots of adjacent layers shall be inverted relative to each other and the spigot areas shall be left unoccupied to prevent concentrated loading on the spigots.
    5. Double-wall corrugated pipe fittings shall not be stacked excessively high. All fittings that can be stored in an upright position shall be neatly stacked layer by layer; those that cannot be stored upright shall be arranged in a single row with their spigot ends facing each other. The stacking height should not exceed 1.5 m.
    6. Adhesives and cleaning agents such as acetone are all flammable materials; they must be kept away from sources of ignition during storage, transportation, and use. Storage areas should be safe, secure, cool, dry, and conveniently located for easy access when needed.
